Sandesh Aher, S.E.
Founder
Sandesh is a licensed Structural Engineer in California with ten years of design experience and is the lead author of four conference papers.
His projects include airports, malls, schools, universities, offices, housing and retrofits. His most notable project Casa Adelante with Mar Structural Design, won three Awards of Excellence for its innovative Performance Based Design.
Using hand sketching, Building Information Modeling, programming, and graphic design and animation software, he is able to shine light on the brilliant and often hidden structural design elements of his profession.
He has also served as a volunteer for GeoHazards International, where he has reviewed structural drawings and developed a construction animation video to train local masons to build earthquake resistant schools in Nepal.
Sandesh has a Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology – IIT Kanpur and a Master of Science in Structural Engineering from Stanford University.
Sandesh also works as a Structural Technical Engineer at GPLA, Inc. and is responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of the engineering projects.
